That is correct, she did not see the very large mortar shells coming, mostly because they were behind us, based on how we were sitting, and they were long before it was really dark.  She’s a little punchy; she gets it from her mom.  😉  That aside, it was a good show for a private affair, and we had plenty of neighbours in the vicinity doing their own, so it made for an enjoyable evening (and the dogs across the street seem totally chill about the whole thing, which was good to see).  Other than our own show, the best part was watching the full moon rise above the trees, haloed by occasional showers of colour lights from one of the other houses setting off fireworks – it was lined up perfectly.

I’m wearing a Deadpool shirt with his skullified head, which is mostly hidden behind Arwyn and her Ariel “Today I want t be a mermaid” shirt.  Stacy, meanwhile, has her lavender faerie shirt on, with the faerie herself completely hidden behind Kia in her retro-style Star Wars shirt.  It’s groovy.
