Grandcon is a gaming convention, which includes a lot of board games, table-top miniatures games, and ye olde pen-and-paper RPGs (such as D&D, for those not familiar with them). We’ve gone to five of their six years of existence, and it’s always a good time – plus, their current location keeps it roomy and non-claustrophobic, which is even better. The girls do get a bit antsy after a couple hours of looking at games, but there’s demos, and plenty of games aimed at kids (we bought a couple of them), plus they have a boffer (foam swords) fight area, which the girls LOVE. The book, The Little Gamemaster, can be found here: https://www.randallhamptonart.com/the-little-game-master If you’ve got kids, definitely check it out!
I’m wearing my brand new “80’s fantasy movies” shirt (which I wore to Grandcon, as it happens), which I bought from Teedesign.net … and, yeah it’s a whole lot of awesome. Stacy’s wearing her Nature’s Prophet shirt (design by http://sandara.deviantart.com/ ), while the girls are doubling up on the pink – Kia’s has a unicorn in front of a crescent moon, and Arwyn’s got a Minnie Mouse with a very sparkly bow. Don’t let that fool you; these princesses in pink are still not to be trifled with. 😉
Check the vote bait to see the girls’ character sheets! It was pointed out by the artist that Kia’s had fiery dragon breath, and Arwyn’s had a natural resistance to fire, so she’d be okay when her sister decided to breathe on her. 😉
