Fatherhood 047
Enter the Skippeh! Wait, no… don’t; that sounds kind of wrong. Uh… so this is Skippy, whose daughter is eight months older than Kia and has been donating some clothes to Kia’s wardrobe. He also got me the book “The Expectant Father” (by Armin A. Brott and Jennifer Ash) early in the pregnancy, which offered up some very useful information for both Stacy and I. He’s got four kids, so he’s obviously stark-raving mad. That’s probably why we get along so well.
Anyway, he did, in fact, bounce a pen off Stacy’s butt one day during her pregnancy. She was bent over and made too good a target to resist (I honestly can’t blame him for that in the slightest), but I was within arm’s reach, so guess who got whacked for it, while he laughed in the background. That’s right, the innocent bystander who was just enjoying a good laugh at something completely different! (Okay, not really, I was laughing at how marvelously the pen ricocheted off her derriere and twirled off through the air, but I still didn’t actually do it!) Bastard.
I’m wearing a black fleece with a tribute to the Greek goddess of victory, Nike, ‘cause she’s pretty cool. Skippy’s sporting his favourite jacket, his grandfather’s hat and a rather stunned expression in the third panel there. Stacy is remarkably adept at attacking from nowhere. She trained with ninjas as a child. And now you know why Kia has nunchucks.
