We recently got the Baby First channel (which, of course, is bundled with a bunch of stations that we’ll never watch, but whatever).  It’s got some great educational shows and it’s entirely aimed at infants and toddlers, so we’re sure that it’ll help in the long run.  There’s a couple shows that really get on my nerves, though, especially their theme songs; those shows, naturally, come on every day during the mornings when I’m watching Kia.  I’m fortunate in that those shows are met with a resounding “meh” from Kia, herself, so muting them or turning the TV off doesn’t bother her in the slightest.

Now, shows like Peek-a-boo, I See You (with it’s little blue, animated baby hiding behind stuff), Fred and Fiona (it’d take too long to explain) and, of course, Vocabu-Larry (a bright red parrot that is introduced to new words and says them repeatedly)… those she gets excited about.  Vocabu-Larry’s theme song comes on and her head just whips around; she loves that silly bird.  I’ll dance with her to the song.  😉

My shirt says “You don’t have to be crazy to work here, they’ll train you.”  Don’t have to be crazy to raise a child, either (though you will be long before you’re finished), but in both cases, it certainly helps.  Stacy’s sporting one of her many purple plaid shirts and Kia’s having a very pink day (babies are very supportive of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, after all) in a lovely little tutu outfit.
