Fatherhood 138
Kia actually had a practice round with grandma’s tree, so when I started putting up ours, she knew exactly what was going on. That led to her excitedly helping to hang ornaments before I got the lights… or the tree assembled, for that matter. And then there’s Kaelin… so very helpful. I fluff up the branches (I’m a professional-grade fluffer, just ask my in-laws!) and she flattens them back down. She loves being up in that thing. At least she doesn’t mess with the ornaments too much.
Kia’s wearing a shirt that says “I love Santa,” which is a total lie. She’s very steadfast in her desire to have nothing to do with any life-size (or bigger) Santa and won’t let us even walk near the one at the mall with going into her mantra of “nononono” and pulling away from him. She’ll get all excited about seeing pictures of him or smaller toys, though. Go fig. *shrugs*
Happy holidays to all of you, whatever one you choose to celebrate! (Even if it’s just celebrating “I-don’t-go-to-work-but-still-get-paid Day”!) 😉
