Fatherhood 317
I have this weird feeling that conversations with my daughters – especially Kia – are only going to get weirder as they get older. Even so, I’m sure that I’ll earn plenty of the future equivalent of “OMG, Dad!” throughout their pre-teen and teen years. In the meantime, I’ll be practicing, and saving up fun little tidbits of information like this. Also, for those wondering, somewhere along the line, Kia decided that it was fun to pretend that she’s a baby ostrich, which naturally makes me the daddy ostrich. That’s about all the explanation that I can give to that.
Kia’s wearing a shimmery, shiny, striped shirt, and Arwyn’s wearing a Sophia the First outfit, complete with shirt, skirt, and jackety-type thing. Stacy’s wearing a basic black long-sleeve, and you might be wondering why we’re dressed so warmly this late in May, but I was probably wearing a sweatshirt until I got inside. This month has given us spring, summer, and autumn, all in quick procession, which may be why I’m wearing my Firefly shirt that states “You are beginning to damage my calm.”
One of my co-workers was wearing a shirt the other day that read ‘Trust me, when you get to know me, I just get weirder.’
Unfortunately she was unable to recall the website she ordered it from.
