Trips to the Detroit Zoo are always fun, and we’ve learned ways of making it minimal stress and expense – such as going on a Tuesday, packing sub-sandwiches, and taking the train to the back end so that we work our way forward, thereby having even less crowds to contend with for the first half of the day.  And don’t get me wrong, the girls loved the animals, and gushed about the otters, the giraffes, the reptile house, and, yes, even the actual bald eagles, but… the carousel clearly took top prize for fun.

I’m wearing my Celtic knotwork chaos emblem shirt, while Stacy’s wearing a green vest-thing on black (yes, I called it a “vest-thing”).  Kia and Arwyn, meanwhile, are wearing a NASA shirt with a rather 80s feel to it, and a very colourfully-written “Love to Smile” shirt, respectively.
