Fatherhood 592
There was a couple rough spots this first week, but mostly just the “this is soooo boooorinnnng” stuff, which is standard for the first week of school. It’s a lot of recap and making sure students who came from the brick-and-mortar schools are up to speed. Had to get them each focused past that and they’re already getting it together. Now my challenge is to keep them engaged and excited about the stuff they’re learning (no easy task on the Language Arts – “English class” to my generation – since I was pretty meh on it in school, too). I pull that off and these two will cruise; there’s no shortage of smarts with these two! One’s easily distracted and the other is absurdly stubborn, but I have no idea where those traits came from…
Ahem. Anyway, I’m wearing the superhero daddy shirt that the girls got me a year or two ago, and hoping that they still feel that way about me by the end of the year. 😉 The girls are doubling-down on the heart-covered dresses, Arwyn’s a mosaic of little ones while Kia’s got bigger hearts all over her.
