They met the boy while they were playing with an exhibit that had a fan blowing up a big, three-foot diameter tube and some very thin fabric sheets that they could effectively launch out of the tube, then play catch as they drifted back down.  Kia was immediately coordinating with other kids so that each corner of the fabric would be held, then released at once (more or less).  K-J’s first words to her, said while standing on a step next to Kia, was “wow, you’re tall!”  He is shorter than Arwyn, despite being older.  😛  I know that feel.  Anyway, they roamed all over the place together, got to learn some things, and had a blast, so… mission accomplished, science center!

My shirt states “Trust me, I’m the Doctor.”  Seemed appropriate for the science-y subject.  Stacy’s wearing her Celtic Tree of Life knotwork shirt and Kia’s wearing a t-shirt the my mom gave her with an air-brushed unicorn on it (with a long-sleeve under it).  For the family, this shirt was made by Aunt Do back in the day and now fits Kia better than mom, and she absolutely loves it.  😀  Arwyn’s shirt features a cat with glasses (previously seen on Kia at some point) which looks like it’s sticking out it’s tongue because of her unicorn-horn necklace; it’s not, but the placement is perfect.  😉
