Their son, as it happens, is the same age as Arwyn, but they were both so young that they don’t really have any memories of each other’s family.  Their daughter is just a year older than Kia and they had played together plenty of times, and she had given Kia a little hand-painted statue as a gift before they moved away.  Not surprisingly, Kia still has it and has continued to cherish it and miss her friend, despite the years, so meeting up with her again?  Oh, she couldn’t have been more ecstatic.  They would’ve chatted the rest of the day, I’m sure.  It was great seeing their whole family again; they’re good people and I couldn’t have asked for better neighbours.  Definitely going to take steps to hang out with them and catch-up.  Otherwise, the con was fun and we were there longer than it felt like.  Bought a couple comics from indie creators, hung out with a friend with a booth there (selling some really cool jewelry and stuff, such as the axolotl earrings that the girls now wear daily), and generally had a great time.  We also got cloaks for each of the girls, which look fantastic and were remarkably inexpensive for the quality; those will be getting worn come Renfest, though the girls have already been putting them to use.  Oh, and plenty of people gushed about how cute Arwyn’s Kiki costume was, and one guy nearly gave himself whiplash when he walked past “Tali’Zorah.’  He asked for a pic, which would’ve been a highlight of her day, except, you know… Friend.  🙂
I’m wearing my Cowboy Beebop shirt, which I happened to wear to the con and got a few enthusiastic compliments about.  Stacy’s just trying to keep cool in the heat with her short-sleeved button-up, while the girls are wearing matching “Mumbo Jumbo” mustache shirts.  He’s a Minecraft Youtuber that makes some amazing stuff and they love to watch.
